Technical data

Aluminum is the most widely used non-ferrous metal, primarily because of its light weight and resistance to corrosion. Although aluminum has a low melting point (660°C), the annealing process can protect aluminum parts from thermal stress; making them acceptable for inclusion in applications as heat-intensive as critical space propulsion systems.

Applications

In its different alloy forms, aluminum is used in applications including MedTech capital equipment, aerospace, outer cases and heat sinks for electronic equipment, construction materials, and even in MKM and Alnico magnets.

Machining Aluminum

Procedures for machining aluminum vary depending on the grade of material and its application. Parts for aerospace and many other industries require extreme dimensional precision machining. One constant in machining aluminum parts of all types is that they require different cooling for different applications.
